All-on-6 replaces every tooth in a jaw with a fixed bridge anchored on six dental implants. Compared with All-on-4, the two extra implants spread chewing forces over a wider area, reduce the load on each implant and allow a bridge that extends further back, with more chewing teeth. It is the technique we recommend for patients with softer bone, larger jaws, a strong bite or a history of grinding, and for anyone who simply wants the most robust full-arch solution available. At DentReal in Konya, All-on-6 is planned on a 3D tomography scan and carried out by our surgical dentist, with the bridge designed and fitted by our specialist prosthodontist.

Who is All-on-6 for?

All-on-6 is designed for patients who are missing all of their teeth in one jaw, or whose remaining teeth are beyond repair. It is the better choice over All-on-4 in the following situations:

  • Softer or lower-density bone, typically in the upper jaw, where more implants give more anchorage.
  • Large jaws, where six implants allow a longer bridge with full-size molars for chewing.
  • Heavy bite or bruxism, because the extra implants distribute the forces that would otherwise concentrate on four.
  • Patients who want a safety margin: if one implant is ever lost, the bridge can usually be kept in function on the remaining five while it is replaced.
  • Patients replacing a failed bridge or denture and wanting a definitive, long-term restoration.

All-on-6 needs slightly more bone volume in the back of the jaw than All-on-4. If your scan shows advanced bone loss there, we may recommend All-on-4 with angled implants, a sinus lift, or zygomatic implants. The decision is made on your CBCT scan and explained to you in plain language.

  1. Free online assessmentSend a panoramic X-ray and photos on WhatsApp. We tell you whether All-on-6 or All-on-4 is realistic for your case and give an estimated price and timeline.
  2. Diagnosis and digital planning in KonyaA CBCT scan, photographs and digital impressions are taken on your first day. The six implant positions and the bridge design are planned on screen by the surgeon and the prosthodontist together. You approve the plan and a fixed written quote.
  3. SurgeryRemaining teeth are extracted and six implants are placed in one session under local anaesthesia, with sedation available. Surgery for one jaw takes around two to two and a half hours.
  4. Provisional bridgeWithin one to three days a screw-retained provisional bridge is fitted, so you return home with fixed teeth. Immediate loading depends on implant stability measured during surgery.
  5. Definitive bridgeAfter three to four months you return for the final bridge: new impressions, a try-in to confirm shape, shade, bite and speech, then fitting of the definitive restoration.

Bridge materials

For All-on-6 we usually recommend a monolithic zirconia bridge on a titanium base. Zirconia is extremely strong, does not stain or wear like acrylic, and modern multilayer zirconia reproduces the translucency of natural teeth. The alternative is acrylic teeth on a milled titanium framework, which costs less and is easier to repair but wears over time.

FeatureZirconia bridgeAcrylic on titanium
Strength and wearExcellent, very low wearGood, acrylic wears over years
AestheticsNatural translucency, stable colourGood initially, may discolour
MaintenanceProfessional cleaning every 1 to 2 yearsRefurbishment after 5 to 10 years
RepairRarely needed; replaced as a unitIndividual teeth can be replaced

Whichever option you choose, the bridge is screw-retained so that it can be removed by a dentist for maintenance without damage.

Visits and timeline for international patients

All-on-6 follows the same two-visit schedule as All-on-4. The first visit takes five to seven days and includes consultation, imaging, surgery, provisional teeth and a check-up before you fly. The second visit, three to four months later, takes five to seven days for the final bridge. Both jaws can be treated in the same trip if you prefer to complete everything at once.

Between visits we keep in touch on WhatsApp. You send a photo at two and six weeks after surgery and a dentist reviews it the same day. Our patient coordinator can help with hotel suggestions close to the clinic in Selçuklu and with airport transfers from Konya Airport.

Aftercare and longevity

All-on-6 is intended to be a permanent solution. With six well-placed implants and a zirconia bridge, the restoration can last for decades. The implants require the same care as natural teeth: brushing twice a day, cleaning under the bridge with a water flosser or bridge floss, and a professional cleaning once or twice a year, which any dentist in your home country can perform with the documentation we provide.

We recommend a night guard for patients who clench or grind, to protect both the bridge and the implants. Smoking and poorly controlled diabetes are the main medical risks to long-term success, and we discuss them openly before treatment.

Documentation you receive: an implant passport with brand, diameter and length of each implant, abutment types, screw torque values, digital copies of your scans and a written aftercare guide in English.

Cost of All-on-6 in Konya

All-on-6 costs more than All-on-4 because it involves two additional implants and a larger bridge, but the difference is modest in Konya compared with prices in the UK, Ireland or Western Europe, where the same treatment can cost several times as much. The final price depends on the number of jaws treated, the implant system, extractions, any grafting and the bridge material.

After your examination you receive an itemised, fixed written quote covering surgery, provisional teeth, the final bridge and all appointments. Send us your X-ray on WhatsApp to receive an estimate before you travel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is All-on-6 better than All-on-4?

Neither is better in every case. All-on-6 offers more support and more chewing teeth and is preferred for softer bone, larger jaws and heavy bites. All-on-4 needs less bone in the back of the jaw and is slightly less expensive. We recommend the technique that suits your anatomy, based on your CBCT scan.

How long does the surgery take?

Placing six implants in one jaw takes around two to two and a half hours under local anaesthesia. With sedation, most patients remember very little of the procedure. Both jaws can be done in one longer session or on consecutive days.

Do I need bone grafting for All-on-6?

Sometimes. All-on-6 needs adequate bone in the back of the jaw. If your scan shows the sinus has enlarged or the bone has thinned, a sinus lift or graft may be planned, or we may recommend All-on-4 with angled implants instead. This is decided at the planning stage and included in your quote.

How soon can I eat normally?

A soft diet is needed for six to eight weeks after surgery while the implants integrate with the bone. After the definitive bridge is fitted you can eat a normal diet, including hard and chewy foods.

What if one implant fails?

Implant failure is uncommon, but one advantage of All-on-6 is redundancy: the bridge can usually remain in function on five implants while the failed one is replaced after healing. This is one of the reasons we recommend six implants for patients with risk factors.
